Staying Disciplined with Mono Ink

Mono Ink is a grayscale system with one blue accent, meant for sites where type and layout carry the design. Nearly every surface resolves to a neutral value, which makes a strong baseline, borders, and hierarchy work harder. Start from the near-black text token and the white surface, then use the gray steps for supporting layers.

The single accent is the rule to respect. Blue appears in visited links, active navigation, and the primary call to action, and nowhere else. If a section needs two colors, one of them is not part of this palette. Blue text on white is below AA at small sizes in most placements, so pair the accent with a white label on filled buttons or use it for large icons rather than running copy.
